Before working in IT, I did all kinds of jobs, including physical work. I moved into tech gradually: software testing, ERP implementations, systems administration and DevOps, then programming. Eventually I was working as a senior developer.

Time away
For a long time, what I liked most was learning something new every day. Eventually the work became predictable. I stepped away from professional IT rather than carry on simply because I was good at it.
These days
Generative AI reminded me what I liked about building things. It lets me tackle more by myself: software, video, automation and electronics. I'm not pretending I know everything. I do know how to learn, design systems, test the results and fix what isn't working.
Away from the screen
Travel, cycling, camping, sailing. RolePlayingLife is simply my way of not sticking to one path. RolePlayingTech is one part of it.
